How important are champions?
In this post I will discuss about a video of Rita Pierson
called “Every kid needs a champion” where she talk about her experience of
being teacher, how through the relationships and interaction with other people
can make you be a better person.
Since I started to study in University, I have learned many
things, and one of these things is the importance of interaction. The relation
with the others is the base of a good learning, and how Rita Pierson said, is not
about that you like all kids, is impossible like all kids, but the key is they
can never know that.
Is relevant question that anyone is perfect, that is the
reason why children need to know teacher is a normal person like them, who can
get wrong and apologies, or have a bad day like anybody.
In conclusion, a significant role of the teacher (something
that R. Pierson have question herself in her discuss) how can teacher raise the
self-esteem of a child and the academic achievement at the same time? She
answers with her experience, and I think through of the relationship, the
respect for the others, and never lose faith that every child deserves
education and a positive self-esteem, build the conviction that they can do it
no matter where they are from.
