EMOTIONAL EDUCATION IN CHILDHOOD

Background:
Contextualize in 2018, Chilean people have problems to control their emotions, because studies suggest that society do not have knowledge in emotional education, people are still thinking emotions like an insignificant thing. But the not controlling of their emotions, the ignorance about how to express them because is looked down upon socially, this it could mean a real problem in future. That is the reason why I am going to talk about the emotional regulation in childhood.

Problem:
Every day the importance of technology is increasing, that is why people are losing the capacity to socialize with other people out of computer or smartphone. And the problem that we can see is how people do not know how to express themselves, how to talk with other person; even families are getting broken sometimes because of that.
But, technologies it could be one of the reasons why people do not prefer talk about their problems or emotions with other person, and prefer write on a social media. While a computer can not give you an advice, maybe another person can support you.

Proposed solution:
Firstly, people need to know emotions are normal. It is normal feeling angry or feeling happy, but the idea is people learn how to control them without hurt someone. However, childhood is the most relevant period to introduce in children emotion education, letting them express themselves without fear, and teaching them how to recognize and what to call them, because one of the most difficult parts is recognize an emotion, apart to control them.
A practical technical to work with no only children, with adults too, is trying using relaxation exercises, to control angry emotions, euphoria, etc. To calm the body.

Other method that people can work in childhood, being the adult a guide, is when child is passing through an emotion not recognized, is talk about it. It could be in the moment, or in a five minutes after the emotion exploted. Talking about it and putting a name to that emotion.

  1. Roma,
You need to have a look at the first paragraph because it is a bit repetitive. You need to introduce the problem in a more academic manner. For example how I did it with the text I presented.
