POST 7: AN EXPERT ON MY FIELD
Hello everybody, today I’m going to talk about an expert who I really admire and inspire me a lot, she is Maria Montessori. She was born on August 31, 1870 in Italy. At the time when she was growing up, she discovered her aptitude for the mathematics and her love for the sciences, more exactly, biology. In those times, Italy had conservative values with the genre roles but time after she became the first female doctor in Italy. She is famous for her early childhood education research; she created a methodology based on Biological/ psychological, religion and pedagogical elements. The Montessori Methodology has a curriculum that is divided into five key areas of learning: practical life, sensorial, language, mathematics and culture. And other important thing about the methodology that she created is the teacher, because they are not the center of the attention here, they just act like a guide to the children and they let them be independent about what they want to learn.
